Moore Cadillac to sponsor Shenandoah Sprints -- MARRS 1

April 10, 2002: The Washington DC Region of the Sports Car Club of America announced today that Moore Cadillac of Vienna, Virginia would be sponsoring the first Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Series (MARRS) championship event of the 2002 season. The Shenandoah Sprints presented by Moore Cadillac will be held April 27-28 at Summit Point Raceway in Summit Point, West Virginia. Like all DC Region events at Summit Point, The Shenandoah Springs presented by Moore Cadillac is open to the public.

"We're ecstatic about the assistance we're receiving from Moore Cadillac in supporting grassroots motor sports," said Don Caldwell, Regional Executive. Caldwell added that in addition to aiding the Region's efforts to promote DC-based motorsports, Moore Cadillac's support will allow the Region to provide a Saturday dinner for all race participants.

The Region is bracing for a record number of cars for the Shenandoah Sprints presented by Moore Cadillac. "Car counts for the first two events this year have been very high and this April's 2nd Annual Capitol Nationals set a NEDIV record for a single-event National," added Caldwell. The addition of the popular Spec Miata class for the 2002 season is likely to swell the entry rolls. Last year's event drew 290 competitors.
