Return to Spec Racer a successful outing for Motion Dynamics Duo
Lakeville, CT (25 May 2009)--The checkered flag on Saturday's Lime Rock Park 250 signaled the end of one race for Adam Burrows and Trevor Hopwood, but it also marked the start of another race as the two jumped into their street cars and made their way up north to New Hampshire Motor Speedway to race in an SCCA double-regional race weekend.
Because the two were busy on Saturday scoring the best result of the season so far for RSR Motorsports in the No. 198 Fisher Ski MINI Cooper S with a run to 6th at Lime Rock Park , they were forced to start the Spec Racer action from the back of the pack.
But that didn't change the outcome much, as Trevor Hopwood closed out the day on the top step of the podium with a race win, as Adam Burrows scored third at the finish in the No. 30 iRacing.com-liveried machine. Fellow Motion Dynamics pilot Shawn Morrison made it an all-Motion Dynamics podium with his runner-up race finish.
"That was a blast!" enthused Hopwood after the win. "Starting from the back, I wasn't sure we were going to make it all the way to the lead, but we had some great fun going up through the field. Lime Rock Park is Adam's home track, and NHMS is the closest to home for me, so this has been an awesome weekend."
"This was the perfect way for us to spend Memorial Day weekend--racing at Lime Rock Park and then jumping into Spec Racers and making it all the way up front here at New Hampshire," said Burrows. "We were hoping to be on the podium for both races, but this as still a solid weekend in both races for us, and we had about as much fun as you could look for. Now we'll look ahead to getting another good result at the Glen with the MINI in a couple of weeks."
