Porterfield Brake Pads joins Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point Contingency Program.

12 March 2003: Porterfield Enterprises (www.porterfield-brakes.com), a maker of high-performance racing brake pads, and the Washington DC Region of the Sports Car Club of America (www.wdcr-scca.org) announced today that Porterfield Enterprises would be a contingency sponsor for the 5th Annual Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point. The race, to be held May 30-31, 2003 at Summit Point Raceway, is an endurance race for sports cars and sedans. The Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point is the longest perennially held amateur endurance races on the continent.

"The Region appreciates the support Porterfield Enterprises has given amateur racing over the years," said William Radford, Sponsorship Liaison for the Region. Radford added "...endurance racing is hard on brake pads and the Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the durability and performance of Porterfield's brake pads." Andy Porterfield, President of Porterfield Enterprises said, "We are happy to have this opportunity to support the long tradition of great endurance races hosted by the DC Region."

Porterfield will be awarding certificates good for a free set of pads to the overall ITE, ITS and Spec Miata winners of the 5th Annual Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point. Prizes will only be awarded to teams that meet the eligibility requirements. More information is available at the Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point website -- www.12hoursatthepoint.org
