Kumho Tires returns to sponsor 6th Annual Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point.

6October, 2003: The Washington DC Region of the Sports Car Club of America is happy to announce the return of Kumho Tires, a leading manufacturer of tires for street and racing, as the sponsor of the 6th Annual 12 Hours at the Point, an endurance race for sports cars and sedans. The June 4-5, 2004 event will be held at Summit Point Raceway in Summit Point, WV. The grueling once-around-the-clock race is the longest perennially held amateur endurance event sanctioned by SCCA.

"Kumho Tires has always supported amateur motorsports and we are proud to have Kumho Tires return for their third consecutive year," said William Radford, DC Region Board of Director. Kumho Tires also sponsors the Kumho Tires Tropical 12 Hours hosted by Florida Region of the SCCA. Radford added, "Kumho Tires has stepped up to the plate to support SCCA endurance racing and their sponsorship is vital in making these events successful."

Once again, Kumho Tires has established a special contingency program for the Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point. "Kumho Tires is a committed partner for amateur racers and this contingency program is just one of the many ways that Kumho Tires participates," said Rudy Consolacion, Motorsports Manager of Kumho Tires. Consolacion went on to say "This is the third year that Kumho Tires has sponsored the 12 Hours at the Point and we believe that it is important to support the triple crown of SCCA endurance racing." The Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point, the Kumho Tires Tropical 12 Hours and the 10-Hour Charge of the Headlight Brigade make up the Triple Crown of SCCA endurance racing.

Like all SCCA races at Summit Point, the Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point will take place rain or shine and is open to spectators. For more information and the latest news, please visit www.12hoursatthepoint.org.
