TOPEKA, KS Second round (of nine) for the 2003 season. SCCA Performance Rally cars and drivers from across North America and the world will compete on the demanding ridgetop and canyon dirt and gravel fire control roads tracing the line of the infamous San Andreas Fault in the Angeles National Forest in southern California. Regarded as the toughest rally in the USA, it is often compared to the Acropolis Rally in Greece for its relentless, car-pounding roads.
This drivers and manufacturers championship event is sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA)

Subaru Rally Team USA will be debuting their all new 2003 Impreza WRX at this event. The culmination of several years of development with partner Prodrive, the cars bear a close visual resemblance to their World Rally Championship sister cars, but have unique to the SCCA ProRally Championship running gear - following rules that enable fully developed Open Class SCCA rally cars to be some of the most powerful yet demanding rally cars on the planet.
Dodge will be debuting new-look Neon SRT-4 (Group 5) and the Neon SXT (Group 2) with matching Mopar Performance livery and team apparel, an integrated part of their new grassroots motorsports and performance parts campaign that includes nearly all facets of auto and truck racing in the USA.
This rally is a full points SCCA ProRally Championship event, and has long been a fixture of the championship. The 2003 event marks its 20th consecutive running.
Drivers earn points towards the national championship, and supporting manufacturers (Subaru, Mitsubishi, Dodge and Mazda) earn points towards overall and class MFG Championships.
