TOPEKA, Kan. (July 3, 2003) -- SCCA Pro Racing has announced that the Formula SCCA Atlantic Tour will be a part of the August 9-10 Oak Tree National Weekend.

The Championship will run with the previously-scheduled Sports Racing Pro Series. The event entry fee will be $300 and purse payout schedule is available at www.sccapro.com.

"It was unfortunate that the Formula SCCA cars were delayed in getting on the track, but that is not uncommon for an all-new car," said Ken Grammer, SCCA Pro Racing Director of Operations. "Now that the cars have hit the track, this is a good opportunity for them to race for prize money in addition to the National Race weekend hosted by North Carolina Region."

Formula SCCA is a new Championship in 2003, and includes the new 2.3-liter Mazda-powered Van Diemen formula car that SCCA Enterprises distributes as well as the venerable Formula Mazda category from SCCA Club Racing. The Sports Racing Pro Series includes cars from the old American City Racing League as well as SCCA D Sports Racing and Sports 2000 classes.
