Kumho Tires driver Caroline B. Wright made her long-awaited T1 debut in a Ferrari of Houston prepared 355 Challenge at the Navy Country Grand Prix at Corpus Christi. Wright, the 1998 and 1999 SCCA Southwest Division T2 Champion and 1999 Valvoline Runoffs medallist, took the national class pole and lead flag-to-flag for the T1 win. This was her first of four required races to qualify for the 2000 SCCA Valvoline Runoffs. Wright finished second overall behind the GT1 993 RSR.

"This is a moment I have been waiting for," stated Wright. "For seven years, Ive been the Chief Driving Instructor for the Houston and Dallas Ferrari dealership events, so I am quite familiar with the car and its capabilities. The 355 is amazing and I believe this car could be a serious contender for the T1 National Championship crown."

"Ferrari of Houston is second to none for support and preparation. They have won more championships than any other dealership in the history of the US Ferrari Challenge. Ferrari of Houston is also the home of Risi Competiziones Grand Am series 333SP. There is so much talent under one roof. No other US group knows these cars better. I am honored to be associated with such a top-notch team."

Ferrari of Houston driver Harrison Williams made his national event debut at Corpus Christi in T1, placing a respectable 4th. Williams, part owner of the winning 355, will campaign the car for the rest of the season. His partner, Bob Albrecht, looks forward to competing in future SCCA events.

Gofazt Racing heads east for the next SCCA National event at Roebling Road, GA. July 1-3.
