Hunt Racing today announces the final schedule for the SCCA Pro Spec Series for the 2001 season. The series takes off the third weekend in April at Phoenix International in conjunction with Grand Am. From there the Series heads North and East to Mosport, Canada to run with Trans Am and World Challenge. In June the Series stops at Mid Ohio again with Grand Am on its way back out West to Sear Point to run for the first time with the Winston Cup! July brings the Series back East, stopping in Chicago for the American Speed Association weekend, then to head to Central New York to run at Watkins Glen as the "Featured" event for the weekend.
August sees the Series headed South to Virginia to run at Virginia International, again as the "Featured" race, and then turning around and going back to Ohio for the first ever race at Cincinnati on a temporary course set up at the airport. Again, the Series will be the "Featured" race. September takes the Series South to Daytona to run in conjunction with Grand Am, and then headed back North to Connecticut to Lime Rock Park to run with the Busch Series! The last event of the year will again be a street race in San Diego.
Speedvision will again be airing races this year, starting with the Phoenix race, then Mosport, Mid Ohio, Daytona and finishing with the San Diego race. One or two more races could be added later to the TV schedule.
Hunt Racing is based out of Buffalo, New York and runs two cars. The #82 TECH HYPER-V driven by Keith Scharf of St. Louis, MO who finished 5TH in points last year and the #0 Pearl Street Brewery car driven by Chris Funk of Kansas City, MO who finished 4TH in points last year.
