Sospiri won his Grand Prix!

Italian Vincenzo Sospiri (37), former Formula 1 racer (MasterCard Lola, 1997) won Moscow Grand Prix. The 6-hours race on VW Polo took place at Moscows Olympic sport complex Luzhniki last weekend. Sospiri, partnered by his compatriot Andrea Agostinone, started from second place, going into the lead after 2 hours and got chequered flag first with one lap gap on Russian touringcar champion Mikhail Uhov.

"There was absolutely exciting race, - Sospiri said after the finish. - I feel very strong competition from Russian drivers and the race on typical city track was complicated by rain and darkness at the end. We choose right strategy and won".

For Sospiri there was second start in Russia this year. In July he raced 6-hours race at Saint-Petersburg together with 18 years old Russian Vitaly Petrov, who participate Italian Formula Renault 2000 championship and Formula Renault Masters for Euronova team managed by Sospiri.

"I saw it as part of promotion for young Russian drivers and Russian Motor Racing itself, - said Sospiri. - I love to see Vitaly's growing as formula racer. Hope we will race together again some international series or famous races in future, Le Mans as example--"
