Ryan Hooker (Essex) put in a copy book performance at Snetterton this weekend to take both rounds of the Porsche 924 Championship. Following on from his double win at Brands Hatch a fortnight ago, Ryan took the double at the Norfolk circuit by 5 seconds in each race.

"I had a good start in race one" said Ryan. "I was able to gradually pull away for a comfortable win by 5 seconds." Taking this first race also saw Ryan retain the Barne Ruche Trophy. Ryan is just as thrilled to receive the BRSCC East Anglia trophy a second time, seeing his name once more engraved alongside such motorsports luminaries as former BTCC Champion Will Hoy. "It's amazing to think my name is going to be engraved next to some of the greats like Hoy" Ryan said.

The start of race two wasn't quite as simple. Rear contact put Ryan into a big slide, however not only was he able to retain his lead but was soon pulling away. "Towards the end of the race we were a bit off song power wise" Ryan told us, "but I was able to keep a close eye on that. I was being slowly caught but not unduly worried." Ryan took his second win of the weekend by almost 5 seconds.

Due to his commitments in the British GT Championship this year, Ryan has only competed in selected rounds of the Porsche 924 series and so is unable to take the title but amazingly looks set to still finish in the top four even having missing five rounds. "It is a great series" said Ryan "And I will always support it as much as I can. I really hope it is able to sport a strong field in future seasons. I'd certainly recommend it!"

In the meantime Ryan's efforts are strongly focused on securing a competitive drive in the 2005 British GT Championship, with his ambition very firmly grounded in the world of Sportscars. But, as he said his support for the Porsche 924 Championship is never waning and he will be in action in the series once more in the final round to be held on 23rd October at Donington Park (Leicestershire).
