Zoechling Fourth in Qatar and ready for more

Christopher Zoechling has eventually ended his unlucky streak oft he past races and shown a great race at the past Speedcar weekend in Qatar. The 20-year-old rookie finished fourth in the series' first nightrace weekend held on the Losail International Circuit.

"Yeeeeees!" Zoechling showed emotion, when he jumped out of his 620 HP V8 monster. "I have worked so hard for this result and I am sure, we have all deserved it. I was always convinced that once the technical failures would stop, I could fight at the top."

The Dubai-based Austrian was ninth on the previous day and went all out on attack in the second run. For several laps Zoechling was part of a battle with Jean Alesi, Heinz Harald Frentzen and Johnny Herbert. A few minutes from time the quarrtet even closed in on third-placed Thomas Biagi.

In the infight for the podium, Frentzen was pushed by Herbert and spun. Zoechling took his chance and slipped past to cross the line in fourth, earning five vital championship points. "It was a really tough weekend, as we had a lot of trouble with our setup. In addition, the field is quite level, so if you start far down, usually not a lot is possible."

Following his fourth place finish, Zoechling is ready for more on his hometrack, the Dubai Autodrome, where the next races will take place. "I know the Autodrome like the back of my hand. I am pretty positive, I can fight for the podium here."
