Zoechling suffers technical failure
Christopher Zoechling was not able to show his great talent in the first of two races at the Speedcar Series event on the Bahrain International Circuit Friday.
The Dubai-based Austrian was knocked out with a technical failure already in the warm-up lap. Team mate Jacques Villeneuve also suffered from problems and only finished tenth. "In the warm-up lap my motor shaft broke and my race was over", a seemingly disappointed Zoechling said.
According to Durango team boss Ivone Pinton, Zoechling will get "a top class car" for the second run tough. "Our team will work all night long to change the parts and in tomorrow's warm up, Christopher will test the gearbox and the shaft to be on the safe side."
In Saturday's second race, the 20-year-old will be all out on attack saying: "Although I have to start from the bottom of the grid in 14th, I will attack and try to charge through the field."
