JP Morgan finally gets his first victory at the SCCS West Virginia.
SUMMIT POINT WV - JP Morgan of Ether, North Carolina moved up from his fourth place starting position for his first Stock Car Championship Series victory during West Virginia Wild and Wonderful Fall Classis on Sunday November 3 at the Summit Point Raceway. The weather forecast for the race was scheduled for cold temperatures and precipitation but the rain/snow never showed up for the weekend's event. Sunny but cold conditions did not prevent JP Morgan from setting the fastest lap of the race in his J&R Chevrolet Monte Carlo on lap 10 of the 30 lap race during his battle with Kenny Liesfeld.
John Martin III and Chris Mitchum finished in 2nd and 3rd positions after moving up through the field running nose to tail through most of the second half of the race.
A lap 2 on track incident sent the front row of Ron Fariss and Jeff Werth backward into the field. Werth battled his way back to a 4th place finish and Fariss into13th. Kenny Liesfeld had an impressive run going until an off course view of turn 5 took him from the lead but he managed to maintain a 5th place finish.
