Rocky Mount, VA, June 18, 2002:

SCCS racers are in final preparation for the upcoming race at Summit Point Raceway in Summit Point, WV just outside of Winchester, VA. (1 hour west of the Washington DC area)

The Summit Point venue will provide a challenging race for the racers and excitement for the fans on its 10 turn 2 mile road course.

"Our race teams are looking forward to this event with the elevation changes and the challenging layout of the course it should provide for fast qualifying and race", stated Lynnie Doughton, SCCS Series Director.

Racers in the series have a wide variety of experience including: Late Model Stock Cars, SCCA, TransAm, GrandAm, and Sports cars on both ovals and road race circuits."The competition has been intense and we are seeing that our racers are adapting quickly to the cars and to the courses", per Lynnie.

SCCS completed its inaugural event April 20-21. The balance of the 2002 season schedule is as follows:

SCCS, LLC is the founder of the Stock Car Championship Series (SCCS), which is a professional Stock Car Road Racing Series consisting of 8 events throughout the eastern United States. SCCS cars are purpose built race chassis's with 1999-2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlos, Ford Taurus', Pontiac Grand Prix and Dodge Intrepid's bodies with 400+ horsepower.
