A pair of $225,000 Porsche 911 GT3 Carrera Cup cars will feature in the Aston Air Conditioning Sports Car races at Morgan Park Raceway on August 9-10.
The father and son team of Tony and Klark Quinn will drive the VIP Petfoods backed fliers around the demanding 2.11km circuit.
Tony needs no introduction to followers of the Carrera Cup series as a consistent front runner, with his previous career achievements including second place to Jim Richards at Targa Tasmania, second in last year's Sandown 500, second at Targa New Zealand, and setting a lap record at Bathurst last year.
Klark meanwhile hasn't been on the seen as long as his old man, yet has raced a vast array of machinery, from Formula Ford, to Production Cars, to little Aussie Racing Cars, where he has been a winner throughout this season.
August 9-10 is set to be his first race in anger behind the wheel of the Porsche.
Other strong competitors in the Sports Car races include championship leaders John Campbell in his Hooper Supersports car, and Steve Morcombe in his Westfield SEi Clubman.
Morcombe is also the runaway leader in the Production Sports Car Class, which runs concurrently with the outright class.
Variety is the spice of life in the Sports Cars, with other strong competitors including the V8 powered GT40 replica of Chris Hatfield, who returns to the track after competing at Targa Tasmania.
Former rally driver Norm Singleton will add something a bit different to the field in his wild Fiat Abarth, while the clubman set will be complemented by Peter Hill, Peter Saunderson, Rob Cooke, Guy Beddington and Keven Johnston.
