Madalynne Crowe to Make 2004 NASA Debut
Rosamond, CA Madalynne "Sharkie" Crowe will compete in her first two events of the 2004 NASA season on July 10 and 11 at Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond, CA. Sharkie will be driving her familiar red #867s Only Racing prepared Mazda RX-7 in the Pro Sedan class.
The event marks the first NASA competition for Crowe since the 200325 Hours of Thunderhill, where she teamed with Tom Dragoun, Dave Beattie, Bob Stebbins, Walter Carlos and Charlie Buzzetti to bring the Mobi 7s Spec GT-2 across the line with a 7 place finish in E-S.
"I'm excited to be running with NASA again," Crowe said. "Last year, I ran in SU (Super Unlimited) and had some great races. We're very glad to be able to bring the 7s Only RX-7 to Willow Springs for this event."
Sharkie, who is currently 2nd in 2004 SCCA Pro-7 Championship points, continued "So far this year, our focus has been on the SCCA Pro-7 Championship. That's the primary reason we haven't run any NASA races yet (this year). All our car development and testing has been geared toward that."
"Now, thanks to the SCCA schedule, we don't have another race in that series until September. It's hard to keep me out of a race car for three days let alone three months! So, with the support of our Crew Chief, Tom Dragoun, and the 7s Only Racing team, we'll be participating in a number of the remaining 2004 NASA events, leading up to the 25 Hours of Thunderhill."
"Pro Sedan will be a new class for me, and I'm looking forward to the challenge. I've been pretty fast at Willow before, but I'm always looking to improve. We'll see what happens starting Saturday."
