The debut race in the Italian Prototypes Championship concluded earlier than expected at Adria, first race of the season, for Racing Team Edil Cris.

The number 2 JS49 Ligier given for the race debut to Valentino Orlandi was forced to the retirement at half way through due to a problem to the flat bottom of the car and to the chassis that will be subject of engineers' investigations during the next few days. A strong impact with a kerb is not ruled out as one of the possible causes for the problem.

"The car did not behave bad overall" technical director Enio Bolsieri declared. "We have a lot of improvement margin and this first race was really useful to gather information for the further development of the car. Valentino Orlandi collaborated with team in a very constructive way and we hope we can have him again with us soon".

Next round of the Italian Prototypes Championship is scheduled for next 7th June on the Umbrian track of Magione whereby Edil Cris will be racing with Marika Diana behind the wheel.
