BRASELTON, GA., MAY 13. Defending Disc Brake Champion Todd Morici drove his 512 BB/LM to the overall win in the final race of the Road Atlanta Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge. Morici passed poleman Chuck Wegner's 512 S before Turn One, and was able to extend his lead to almost three seconds at the finish. Wegner, driving only his fourth racin in his newly acquired 512 S finished second, ahead of 512 BB/LMs driven by Rich Liebhaber, Ray Hartman, and Kurt Schultz.

Class winners, in addition to Morici and Wegner, included Charlie Arnott (365 GTB/4 Comp), Bill Noon (250 LM), Allie Ash (250 SWB Comp), and Peter Giddings (Alfa Romeo 8C/35). Lawrence Stroll (512 BB/LM) had suffered several mechanical problems during the weekend. He was able to start the race, but then suffered brake problems, ending his run. Stroll was presented a special "Luck of Racing" award during the podium ceremonies.

The next race for the North American Shell Historic Ferrari Challenge cars will be at Lime Rock Park, Connecticut, on June 22-23.
