Co Durham pairing Stephen Petch and Co-driver Michael Wilkinson made a good start to their Peugeot 206 Super Cup campaign finishing eighth on only their third outing in the SGP Motorsport prepared 206.

Although the pair where happy with eighth it could have been better had it not have been for a catalogue of small incidents. Broken suspension, a broken gear linkage and a series of over shoots cost the pair a lot of time.

Stephen commented; "If someone had offered us eighth before we came here we would have snatched their hands off, as our aim before the event was to finish in the top ten. Even though we had a lot of problems I think the result was still quite good as the competition was very fierce. By the end off the day we were getting to grips with the car and were setting some competitive times which should stand us in good stead for the Astra Stages."

Stephen's next event will be either the Border Counties Rally or the North Humberside Forest Rally to get more miles in the car before getting back to the fierce competition of the Peugeot 206 Super Cup on the Astra Rally.
