Turkish Rally Championship Pirelli Rally - Istanbul
Pirelli Rally, the 2nd round of the 2005 Turkish Rally Championship, will take place on 06-08 May 2005. Special stages are very close to the fairly new Formula 1 circuit of Istanbul. It's the perfect time of the year to combine the rally experience with the perfect new special stages. The rally is formed as a gravel rally.
The Rally is organizing by one of the finest automobile club in Turkey, Istanbul Automobile Club (ISOK).
The scrutineering will be on May 6th between 18:00 - 23:00 hours. The cars are going to be checked in Maslak Industrial Zone at the Pirelli garage. The start of the Rally is going to be on May 7th Saturday at 12:00 pm at the heart of the Istanbul, at Levent Metrocity. Metrocity shopping mall is the most famous shopping center located in European side of the city. Spectators will have the possibility to see finest racing drivers and the teams of Turkey.
The club organized the rally in new stages again this year. After having very heavy work, the fairly new stages are ready for competition. The total length of the Rally is 323,82 km. The rally is going to be 2 days and 3 legs. The length of the Special stages are 135,44 km. There are going to be 4 different stages that are going to be repeated 2 times. In the second leg of the first day, 1st and the 4th stages are going to form the 5th stage which will be longest stage of the rally with 27,00 km. Totally 9 special stages will be used.
It's expected to have very consistent participation to the Rally. The competitions between the teams are going to be very competitive. WRC, Super 1600 and Production cars are going to have consistent fight at the stages. The Rally Headquarter & the Service Park is in Sabanc? University;
The Service Park & the Rally Head Quarter is located in one of the finest universities in Turkey, Sabanc? University, where spectators will have the opportunity to see these state of art cars being repaired between the stages.
