By Johan Laubscher
Jari-Matti Latvala, Volkswagen Motorsport factory WRC driver, has taken victory at the 2013 Lahti Historic Rally. He was triumphant behind the wheel of an Audi quattro rally car.
This was Latvala’s second rally with the quattro after he debuted with the car at the Rally Estonia Historic in mid-July. It had been Latvala’s dream to compete in an Audi rally car, and his dream came true with these historic rallying events. This Group 4 Audi quattro is prepared and run by the rally team called R3 - Rally Racing Rent from Italy.
Latvala was very fast at the Estonian event and he proved to be the class of the field again at the Lahti Historic Rally in Finland this weekend. He completed the event as the victor, taking his third Lahti Historic Rally victory, his first in an Audi.
