Falken Tyres Rally Queensland - 4-6th June, 1999

The Falken Tyres Rally Queensland will commence around 6.00PM June 4th, with the closure of the main street (Bulcock Street) of Caloundra, for the Friday night 'Street Extravaganza' where all cars will be on display to the public.

The competitive stages of the event start at 8.00am Saturday, at the ever popular Pelican Waters Super Special, which will also host the final stage and the finish at 1.30PM Sunday.

The 400km rally route covers a healthy 195 competitive kilometres, based in the familiar forests around Imbil, to the north-east of Caloundra. Imbil will be the major service centre and the jump off point for a great new innovation for the event.

From Imbil, there will be shuttle buses to carry spectators throughout the special viewing stages with catering, commuting and conveniences! A rally ticket of $10 for the whole event or $5 for Sunday will allow you access to the free transport and a worry free way to view the best part of the rally!

Heading home to Caloundra on Saturday night, the field will compete on the newly established 'Noosa Hillclimb' where competitors will rally under lights! The 2.5 kilometre course will be a great challenge for competitors and a true spectacle for the fans.

Sunday's competition is in the same area as Saturday making for an easy rally to follow... and returning to the event for the first time since 1996 is the testing 'New Traverse' special stage in Imbil, a 28-kilometre route up and over a twisting mountain trail, a road that may well be a factor in deciding the ultimate winner this year!

The cars will return to Pelican Waters Super Special for the final stage and rally closure.
