With five weeks to go, preparations are well under way for the start of the 2000 Dunlop Motorsport Ireland National Rally Championship at the Downhill Hotel Mayo Stages Rally on Sunday 12th March. Hosts, Mayo & District Motorsport Club are busily putting the final plans into action to ensure a safe and smooth running of the event which is also the first round of the Four Seasons Border Series.

Within a week of issuing regulations, Event Secretary, Margaret McGreal, has had a phenomenal response with over 300 entries received. By the time entries close on the 25th February there will be many crews left disappointed, despite the fact that the sports governing body, Motorsport Ireland, has increased the starting number to 151 cars.

Format: Four stages run twice in North Mayo covering 84 competitive miles.
