Peugeot seeks 7th win in a row at Rali Rota do Vidro

The excellent results performed by Miguel Campos and Carlos Magalhães throughout the season - three wins and two-second positions - narrow the fight for the Portuguese rally championship title. A win in the upcoming Rali Rota do Vidro, to be run from the 27th to the 29th of September, and scoring for the European Rally Championship with a 5-point coefficient, may open the door for the Peugeot Total Silver Team SG's third championship title quest, as well as its seventh straight win in this particular event.

"The fact that I can win the Drivers championship at this event leaves me with greater motivation and optimism to perform my best, although I am quite aware that a rally is not won to begin with and that we must not forget the remaining competition" starts to explain Miguel Campos who currently holds a 28 point advantage over his most direct rivals.

The Peugeot Total Silver Team SG driver is reminded that, "All the team's goals have been attained throughout this excellent season and the sooner we manage to reach the remaining goals, the better. I believe we have all the right conditions to conclude our goals at the Rali Rota do Vidro, all we need is to wait for the end of the event to be sure", wisely considers Campos, confidante in his machine.

Peugeot Total Silver Team SG's, team manager, Carlos Barros, highlighted the historic link between this rali and Peugeot, "We have always been successful in this rally. Since its very first editions, six years ago, we have been its sole winner. This year we hope to maintain the tradition ", claimed Carlos Barros.

The seventh edition of the Rali Rota do Vidro will begin at Marinha Grande, covering a total of 797,7 kilometres, of which 200,3 will be run against the clock in the 18 SS, divided into two stages and 4 sections. New in this edition of the Rali Rota do Vidro/Centro de Portugal, is the Super Special, scheduled to take place Friday night at Marinha Grande, as well as the inverted passages through the Chimpeles, Alvaiàzere and Arega SS's at the end of the third stage and the new SS of Sertã and Cernache.
