What does the Middle-East Rally Championship (MERC) mean to you?

Ben-Sulayem: Nearly my life.

Do you think that there are things or rallies that have to be change in the championship?

Ben-Sulayem: Yes, what we need is more manufacturers to be involved in the championship.

What is your favorite rally in the championship?

Ben-Sulayem: Everyone has a different favorite but definitely home rally and Bahrain.

Why are you not taking part in the rallies in Cyprus?

Ben-Sulayem: I did it before - it is a good rallie; but because we are leading the championship we do not need to go but I would love to do it again.

Why are you not taking part in even one round of the World Rally Championship (WRC)?

Ben-Sulayem: I do not have much time and also the Ford sponsorship.

What do you think about the situation in the Middle-east? And the situation between the Palestinians and Israel?

Ben-Sulayem: Everybody should live in peace and both parties have the right to live there but it should be a fair peace. Otherwise there will always be problems there.

If there ever will be peace, would you consider to come to do a rally in Israel?

Ben-Sulayem: Yes, there has been talk about doing a peace rally.

After so many years in the middle-east rallies, is it not a time to change and try other rally championships?

Ben-Sulayem: Yes, but we need more people to enter the championships.

In all your rally career, who was your hardest contender?

Ben-Sulayem: Saeed Al Hajri

What was your first rally car? And the best car?

Ben-Sulayem: Opel Manta 400, and the best is the Ford Focus.

What was your best and worst moment in rally?

Ben-Sulayem: Winning the championship in 1988 with a full cast and a broken neck the worst moment was when i broke my neck.
