As you know, the rally of Lebanon is a highly rated event in the area due to its excellent standard in organization, media coverage, and safety records. It is the one among the FIA Middle East Rally Championship to be entirely run on tarmac.
Indeed, this rally is also set to attract many of the World's competitors who have shown considerable interest and satisfaction through the past years. Well known names in motorsports such as S. Munari, T. Makkinnen, D. Auriol, A. Schwarz, P. Solberg, M. Martin, P. Liatti, M. Bin Sulayem, A. Bakhashab considered the Rally of Lebanon as a great experience.
"It is not only a rally, it is a philosophy" said Yves Loubet.
So the Rally of Lebanon (R.O.L.) whose involvement with many World Championship drivers will once again this year be keen to produce an event which is not only known by the Lebanese Warmth and hospitality but also an event that will host a WRC champions vedette & many competent and international rally drivers as well--.
Besides, this year, the event acts as the 4th round in the Middle East rallies Championship and will officially start on the 5th of July from the city center of the capital Beirut.
'Our organizing team have been working tremendously hard to make this event not only a competing race but also enjoyable for the competitors as well as for the spectators" said the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Georges Chami.
"Indeed, we are trying to focus to lay on a route which will move into the beautiful countryside not to forget the Super Special Stage which will emerge from the down town Beirut, the Capital of Lebanon" added Mr. Chami.
After his bad luck in Greece , Lebanese rally driver Roger Feghali is looking forword to his "home" rally and will try to get a good result. strong local opossition will be 2001 Lebanon champion Doumit Bou Doumit in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO, Doumit who won this year Rally du Printemps and came 2nd to young charger Abdo Feghali in Rally des Cedres. Abdo Feghali himself will be also hot local favorite in the Rally of Lebanon.
