Tremendous win in Spa for Future World.
At the wheel of a Toyota Corolla WRC tuned by Future World, Tsjoen- Chevaillier have clinched a beautiful victory in Spa for the first round of the Belgian Rally Championship. They won the Boucles de Spa being 15 seconds quicker than the six-times winner Snijers (Impreza WRC). Munster (Impreza GT) came on the last podium place after Theunissen (Celica GT4) has to face to clutch problems.
Friday evening, Snijers set the pace on the opening stage, a show SS held on the Circuit of Francorchamps. Waiting carefully the "real" start of the rally, Tsjoen was second. Saturday morning, Tsjoen boosted up and took the lead while Snijers was complaining about cold tyres. Snijers changed the set-up of his car but was still unable to close the gap. From 24 seconds, the difference between the Future World driver and his rival failed only to 22". Sunday, Snijers pushed very hard but Tsjoen made no mistake. Tsjoen won the tight race and offered a precious result to Future World by a margin of 15".
Sunday morning, Theunissen lost the third position after his Celica has to face clutch problems. Munster ended the rally on the last podium place in front of Theunissen and the local Radoux (Escort WRC). Sterckx (Octavia WRC) retired because of a starting fire. Finishing 7th, Bouche (Lancer Evo7) won easily the Gr.N category. In S1600, Cols took the class and 9th overall, his Punto was 33 seconds ahead of second placed Collard (Saxo) - delayed by a puncture - with young Casier (Saxo) third.
