With podium, Theunissen extends his Belgian leading position.

Belgian Ypres Westhoek Rally, round 6 of the Coef. 20 European Rally Championship, has been won by Thiry-Prévot (206 WRC). At the wheel of a Toyota WRC tuned by Future World, Theunissen-Genten took third place and extended their leadership in the Belgian Division 1 Rally Championship. Facing to accelerator problems, Tsjoen-Vergalle have to retired after SS4. They were discovering works Hyundai Accent WRC3 engaged by Future World with help of MSD.

With "scratches" in SS1 and SS2, Theunissen is the first leader of the rally. Trying to get the rhythm, Duval (Focus WRC) hit a rock in SS3. Young world star courageously repaired a broken suspension, but lost more than 30 minutes. No more chance for Tsjoen, while his Accent WRC3 of Hyundai Belgium Team performed by Future World has to retired. Thiry took the lead when Theunissen went off, losing 17". Saturday, Thiry made the difference finishing Leg 2 more than 2 minutes ahead of Snijers (Impreza WRC). Theunissen went back to third place because of the failure of the centre differential and Polish Kulig (Focus WRC) retired (steering). No leading position will change Sunday during short Leg 3.

-" We are happy for Rocco Theunissen because, after beautiful driving in Spa, he went on this week-end, told Gérard Magniette, team manager of Future World. Leg two and three were very difficult for him : he had to face to new transmission set-up after each service, while our team was trying to solve the problem. About rising relationships between MSD and Future World, I can't say any more today. Both parts are still in shock after statement released by the FIA concerning future of WRC cars. "

Next to his Belgian and La Reunion leading championship positions, Future World is classified second of the 2002 European Rally Championship with Kuzaj (PL), winner in Bulgaria and Croatia.
