Circuit of Galway Retrospective Trial 31st March - 1st April 2001

The time was when competitors in the Galway International rally came with their Porsches. What goes around comes around, and the second running of Galway Motor Club's "retro" will be based for the first time in a new headquarters in the "Lady Gregory" Hotel, Ennis Road, Gort in south Galway. For decades the area was the base for those big boy's toys in many Circuit of Galway International rallies!

This years route promises to be varied - but without the really rough bits used last year and there will be an extra class to cater for Mini's and derivatives up to 1100cc.

The general outline will be as follows:

Saturday 31st March: Scrutiny and documentation at Rally HQ from 10.00 am to 11.30 am. Start at 12.00 noon. Regularities and Tests returning to the HQ at 6.00pm. Start of Night Trial at 9.01pm - approx. 80 miles. Finish of Night trial at HQ.

Sunday 1st April: Restart at 10.00 am on Sunday - regularities and
tests. Finish at HQ at approx. 4.00pm Prizegiving at 6.00pm.

The management of the "Lady Gregory" is providing a room rate of £70 for TWO competitors to include Bed, Breakfast and meals for both crew members on Saturday evening. Special Two night rates are also available. Please book early to phone (091) 632333.

Bobby Clinton is again the Clerk of the Course.
