Puyallup, WA - Scotty B. White returns from his 2001 SCCA Pro Racing hiatus to compete at Sears Point in the Speedvision World Challenge GT race July 22. White will be in his distinctive black and screaming green #97 NayKid Racing/West Coast Corvettes/DRM C500R.
"We have had a very busy schedule this year," explains Scotty. "We have been actively campaigning our T1 Kumho Corvette Z06 in SCCA Club Racing and SCCA Solo competition. Consequently, we have had schedule conflicts with World Challenge. Sears Point is one of my favorite tracks and there is such a strong Corvette fan base there, we didn't want to pass up a chance to bring out the #97 NayKid Racing/West Coast Corvettes car."
During the 2001 season, White has been no stranger to the top of the podium. In SCCA National racing, he has set four new track records, poles, and wins. In Solo, he has four national wins and two Pro Solo wins. In 2000, Scotty posted four top-ten finishes in SVWC GT. He is cautiously optimistic about Sears Point.
"We have been doing a lot of testing on the Toyo tires to prepare for this event," White grins. "We have been closely following the series and we are fairly certain we have a benchmark to measure our car's performance. We found a sweet spot for the set-up. We'll just have to wait and see, but we strongly feel we'll be in the hunt for the front."
Scotty B. White says he looks forward to seeing all his Corvette friends and fellow C5 Registry members again.
"We love the C5 functions and hanging with all the Corvette people. These are really great people. NayKid Racing and West Coast Corvettes plans to spend some quality time with our Corvette friends. We're excited about visiting with them again at the Corvette Corral Chalet on Sunday morning during the special driver autograph session."
