With a four car effort, Turner team gets down to business right off the trailer.
Trois Rivieres, Quebec - August 2, 2002 - With their race face on, Turner Motorsport rolled four cars off the trailer and delivered. After two rounds of practice, Will Turner [#92 Turner Motorsports / H&R Springs BMW 325i] sits second best in practice times with a fast lap of 1:17.931.
Bobby Sak [#93 Turner Motorsports / H&R Springs BMW 325i] turned in a 1:18.876 putting him 9th fastest and Frank Selldorff [#94 Turner Motorsports / H&R Springs BMW 325i] posted a 1:18.953 for 10th. Eric Curran, who joined the team for Trois Rivieres used the second session to improve his time putting the #91 Turner Motorsport / H&R Springs BMW 325i in 18th.
"We're picking up right where we left off in Washington DC," said, Will Turner. "After the morning session we sat down and discussed the track. We really felt that this race is not has much the equipment as it is the driver. We looked at each corner and assessed its importance relative to the overall performance picture. We all agreed that our focus should be on the corners that have the biggest payoff when you get them right. That's the trick to this track; figure out the where the biggest gains can be made."
It should be noted that the morning session was conducted on a damp track and the afternoon session was abbreviated due to an accident requiring a car having to be removed from the track.
