Trois Rivieres, Quebec - August 1, 2002 - Turner Motorsport announced today that Eric Curran will start round 7 of the SPEED World Challenge Touring series in the #91 Turner Motorsport / H&R Springs / BMW 325i.

"Eric is a great fit for the Turner Motorsport team," remarked Will Turner, owner of Turner Motorsport and driver of the #92 Turner Motorsport / H&R Springs BMW 325i. "His participation this weekend will provide us with valuable feedback. Eric's experience will be a terrific help dialing in our car setups for the track."

Eric ran three SPEED GT races in 2001, driving a Chevrolet Corvette C5. He finished 16th in the points and recorded two top-fives [Lime Rock Park and Road Atlanta] and three top-10s. His best finish [fourth] came at Road Atlanta. 

Eric's racing experience includes SCCA ITC, American Sedan, Spec Miata, the SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am Series For the BFGoodrich Tires Cup, Grand-Am, Grand-Am Cup, Motorola Cup, NASCAR Modified series, SCCA Solo, EMRA time trials and ice racing.

In 1999, Eric had a third-place finish at the Rolex 24 Hour in the AGT class. In 2000, Curran started six Speedvision GT races with three top-fives and six top-10s.

Turner Motorsport and the SPEED World Challenge Touring Series are in Trois Rivieres, Quebec. They will race in conjunction with the American LeMans Series as part of the Trois Rivieres Grand Prix, August 2-4. The race will be televised on SPEED Channel, Saturday, August 17 at 10:00 p.m. (EDT).

The SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship provides competition between various makes of cars on the same track at the same time. It is becoming a regular occurrence to see more than 60 cars entered at World Challenge Touring Car events. Manufacturers include BMW, Audi, Honda, Acura, Nissan, Volkswagen and Mercury.
