ARCHER DRAWS FIVE-POINT PENALTY FOR FIRST TURN SPEED GT INCIDENT AT CLEVELAND

LAKEVILLE, Conn. (June 30, 2005) -- SCCA Pro Racing announced today that SPEED World Challenge GT driver Tommy Archer has been penalized five Drivers' Championship points and placed on probation for two races for his role in the turn one incident at the start of the race at Burke Lakefront Airport on June 26.

Archer, who started eighth on the grid in his Dodge Viper, made contact with polesitter and then leader Max Papis as well as Wolf Henzler and Lou Gigliotti as the field funneled into turn one after the standing start.
