B&M On Board With SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Through 2007

TOPEKA, Kan. (March 22, 2006) -- B&M Racing & Performance Products, producers of high-quality shifters, oil coolers, torque converters, transmissions and other street and racing products, has announced an extension of its involvement with the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Championships through 2007.

The agreement extends a relationship between B&M and SCCA Pro Racing that began in 2001.

"B&M is proud to be a part of the SPEED World Challenge Championships, the most competitive road racing series found in the United States," B&M Vice President of Marketing Bob Ritzman said. "The series provides exciting racing, competitive teams and world wide coverage through television and motor press, and continues to give B&M excellent exposure for two of its product lines, precision sport shifters and oil coolers."

Included in the package, a pair of popular awards in the SPEED GT and SPEED Touring Car classes will once again be featured in 2006 and '07.

In SPEED GT, the B&M Oil Coolers "Coolest Move of the Race" Award will once again be handed out to the driver who is deemed by SPEED Channel producers and on-air personalities as having made the best driving maneuver of the race. SPEED GT drivers will also win $500 for being chosen as the award winner.

For SPEED Touring Car, the B&M Sport Shifters Hole Shot Award will again be on the line in every round through 2007. As before, the award will be given to the driver who gains the most positions from his or her original starting position during the first lap. In addition to the award, the Hole Shot winner will also be given $500.

As has been the case for the past few seasons, B&M will be easily identified as an official sponsor of SPEED World Challenge as every car in both classes will be adorned with number boards displaying the B&M logo -- the B&M Sport Shifters logo for Touring Cars and the B&M Oil Coolers logo for GT rides.

"With this agreement, SCCA SPEED World Challenge and B&M have solidified a fantastic partnership," SCCA Pro Racing President Earl Knoper said. "Through its continuation of the performance awards and number boards, B&M has again shown its enthusiasm for the competition level of SCCA SPEED World Challenge and its ability to provide an effective marketing platform."

After beginning the year at Sebring International Raceway as part of the 54th Annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring, B&M and SCCA SPEED World Challenge crank up Round Two of the 10-round 2006 slate March 31-April 2 with the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, in St. Petersburg, Fla.
