Auberlen Entered For Sebring Opener; More Events Planned For The Season

SEBRING RACEWAY, Sebring, FL - 03/13/2006 - The World Challenge season gets underway this week at Sebring International Raceway in Florida. Turner Motorsport will begin its ninth season in World Challenge and the fifth season with Bill Auberlen behind the wheel.

Turner Motorsport has over 125 starts in World Challenge Touring races since 1998. After winning the 2003 and 2004 championships the team elected to race in the Grand Am Cup series but continued its World Challenge program at selected events (two wins - Lime Rock and Infineon/Sears Point, and a second-place at Sebring). The 2006 season is a 10-race tour of the US and Canada and the schedule conflicts minimally with the Grand Am Cup race schedule.

Will Turner, Team Owner, Turner Motorsport:

"Obviously with a three-car effort in Grand Am our commitment is there. But with a competitive car, a winning driver, and an expert crew and resources we can put up a fight in World Challenge. We've been competitive in World Challenge in each year so why not make every effort to win races in both series?"

Auberlen will take to the track this week in the #2 Turner Motorsport/H&R Springs/StopTech Brakes BMW 325i. His record at Sebring is formidable: two wins and a second-place in the last three years. Not to mention winning the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1995 and 1997.

Bill Auberlen, driver, #2 Turner Motorsport/H&R Springs/StopTech Brakes BMW 325i:

"I insisted we do more World Challenge races and score as many wins as possible. Belt me into a Turner Motorsport BMW with StopTech Brakes and H&R and we're looking strong anywhere. I hope we can do the whole season but for now we'll concentrate on winning here. Sebring has to be my favorite track so this week is looking very good for us."

The Sebring race week starts out on Wednesday with several practice sessions. Qualifying occurs on Thursday at 11:05am. The green flag drops on the 50-minute, 18-lap sprint race at 11:25am on Friday (Saturday is the 54th 12 Hours of Sebring). The race is taped by The SPEED Channel and broadcast this very Sunday, March 19 at 3:00pm.
