Paul Bonaccorsi Announced as Driver for the #7 Autosport Development GTO at Infineon

Detroit -- July 13, 2005 Autosport Development announced today that former SPEED World Challenge Touring Car standout, Paul Bonaccorsi, will pilot the team's #7 GTO for Round Seven of the SCCA Pro SPEED World Challenge GT race at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California, July 15-17. The race is in conjunction with the American Le Mans Series and part of the Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma Presented by Ravenswood.

Bonaccorsi is no stranger to the SPEED World Challenge Series. In 2002 Bonaccorsi was the 2nd winningest driver in the SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Series. Taking time off to focus on his growing construction business, Bonaccorsi is excited to make his return to competition in the Autosport Development GTO.

"I'm really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel," said Bonaccorsi. "I'm especially excited to do it in such a competitive car. I've been watching the Autosport Development program and the progress that Stu Hayner's been making in the #5 GTO. It's a great looking car, and I think once I get the feel of it, I can move it up to the front. It will be a quick learning curve, but with Stu's input, I'm sure we'll be up-to-speed in no time."

Paul has been racing since 1993. His success in the SPEED World Challenge series has placed him in feature articles in the LA Times, SportsCar magazine, Canadian Driver, and other major circulation publications. Recently he was featured on the nationwide motorsports radio show, Speedfreaks, and was honored by Mazda in two full-page advertisements in Autoweek. A California native, Paul resides in Rancho Cucamonga, CA with his wife and two children.

Chili Pepper Racing's Jim Osborn usually drives the #7 GTO, however due to a scheduling conflict, Osborn was unable to make the Series' west coast swing. Bonaccorsi will take the wheel for Round Seven and Steve MacDonald of Woodinville, Washington will be in the seat for Round 8 at Portland International Raceway, July 28-31.

The Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma Presented by Ravenswood schedule calls for the SPEED GT race to run Saturday at 1:05pm and the Touring Car race to run on Sunday at 2:50pm. Both races will air Sunday, July 17th on SPEED with the GT race at 1:30pm the Touring Car race at 6pm. All times are EST.

Autosport Development competes as part of the SPEED World Challenge GT Series. All events are nationally televised on SPEED channel (formerly Speedvision). In 2005 the SPEED World Challenge Series schedule will include street races and temporary circuits in Cleveland, Denver and St. Petersburg, and make the traditional stops around the country at great tracks like Sebring, Road Atlanta, Lime Rock Park, Infineon, Mosport, Portland, Mid-Ohio and Laguna Seca.
