GMAC/Trenton Forging ...

GMAC/Trenton Forging #5 GTO Fast in Testing at Infineon
Hayner: "--definitely heading in the right direction!"

Sonoma, Calif. -- July 15, 2004 Coming off his "Hard Charger" award winning weekend at Mid-Ohio, Stu Hayner, in the #5 GMAC Commercial Finance/Trenton Forging GTO, continues to improve the car's times. The team is in California for the SPEED World Challenge GT Round 4 in conjunction with the Grand Prix of Sonoma at Infineon Speedway. The race will air on SPEED, Sunday July 18 at 1pm EST.

"This is the biggest gain we've made," commented Hayner referring to his times after Thursday's test session. "There was no official timing during the test, but we're running with guys that have been much quicker than us in the past. I'm sure some of that is due to competition adjustments implemented by the series, but our guys are really starting to make this thing work."

Team owner, David Moxlow agreed; "Our guys are really doing their homework. People don't realize what is involved in developing a new racecar. We're the only ones campaigning the GTO. That means everything is a new challenge. There are no off-the-shelf performance parts we can buy or try. While everyone else is choosing different shock packages or spring rates, we're stuck using what we have. But, it's coming along well and I'm really pleased with our crew's efforts. We're all committed to getting this car running with the lead pack."

"The series is doing a great job keeping the playing field level," Moxlow continued. "I continue to be happy with our choice to run in the World Challenge Series. Everything about it enhances our marketing efforts. The talent and competition is tremendous and the venues, such as Mid-Ohio and here at Infineon, are terrific."

In other event activity, the team is releasing a new #5 GTO/Stu Hayner souvenir poster to given free to fans attending the Infineon race and next week's event in Portland.
