ROAD ATLANTA, BRASELTON,, GA - 05/29/2003 - In June heat, Bill Auberlen led flag to flag in today's Speed Touring Car race from Road Atlanta, Georgia. He started his Turner Motorsport/H&R Springs BMW 325i from the pole position and led through 25 laps to reclaim first place in the Driver's Championship and restore BMW's lead in the Manufacturer's Championship as well. Will Turner and Frank Selldorff drove well in the hot weather and intense traffic to finish 15th and 16th, respectively.

Auberlen made a great getaway from the starting line and charged forward. He left the multi-car battles behind him and focused on driving away. After the race's only caution he held off a challenge from Mazda to finish in first place. This is Auberlen's second win of the year with the first coming in the season opener at Sebring in March. He also set the race's fastest lap in the Turner Motorsport/H&R Springs BMW 325i.

Auberlen now leads the Speed Touring Car Championship with 119 points. Turner Motorsport has led the charge for BMW this year and Auberlen's win boosts BMW back to the lead in the Manufacturer's Championship with 30 points - three more than Acura.

Program update: series sponsor, The Speed Channel will first broadcast this race on Saturday, July 19 at 3pm. The Speed Touring Car series next travels to Infineon Raceway/Sears Point in Sonoma, California on July 25-27 for round five of the Championship.
