Elkhart Lake, Road America

Today saw the return of Autosport Designs Racing's Aston Martin DBRS9's to the Speed GT World Challenge Championship. Following a 2 month lay off from the series in order to further develop the car, it was clear today that the time had been well spent.

Johnny Mowlem put his number 44 car firmly inside the top 10 in today's 15 minute qualifying session with 2:16:83 second tour of the 4.1 mile demanding road course. 7 tenths of a second covered positions 3 through 10. Johnny said, 'we have made a big step forward with the car. Further testing should see us contending for the podium.'

Tom Papadopoulos in car 43, until qualifying had a somewhat difficult weekend with teething issues still affecting the performance of the car. However in qualifying the car ran well and Tom ended the session in 27th position. Tom said 'I am pleased with the way the car handled today and I am confident of its performance for the race.'
