Remus SportExhaust sponsors SPEED GT "Power Move" award.
TOPEKA, Kan. (May 1, 2003) -- Remus Innovation, one of the world's leading manufacturers of sport exhaust systems, announced today the creation of the Power Move of the Race Award for the 2003 SCCA Pro Racing Speed World Challenge GT Championship.
Remus USA will award a $500 cash award to the driver who performed the move that Speed Channel commentators and production staff determine was the highlight of that event.
"The SCCA Speed GT Championship is all about the highest level of performance out of a production automobile," said Bob Ritzman, Remus USA Vice President of Marketing. "Like the Speed GT series, Remus SportExhaust is about the highest level of performance, and, therefore, a perfect fit for the Remus Power Move of the Race."
"With the level of competition present in the SCCA Speed GT Championship, I'm sure the drivers who win this award will read like a 'who's who' of North American road racing," said Mitch Wright, SCCA Pro Racing Vice President and General Manager. "We are excited to have a company like Remus SportExhaust, which has a world wide presence in motorsports, included in the SCCA Speed World Challenge."
Remus Sport Exhaust products, distributed exclusively in the United States by Chatsworth, California's Remus USA, is positioned as one of the largest and best sport exhaust manufacturers in the world. Remus sport exhaust products are available for most European, Japanese, and many North American performance vehicle applications from Audi and BMW to Ferrari, Honda, Lexus, Chevrolet Corvette, and Dodge Viper.
As part of the agreement, the Remus logo will be displayed on the number boards of each competitor in the SCCA Speed GT Championship. You can also find the Remus logo on many of the world's top racecars in the World Rally Championship, Deutsch Tourenwagen Masters (DTM), Formula 3000, Formula 3 and V8 Star. Formula One World Champion Jacques Villeneuve and DTM and FIA GT World Champion Karl Wendlinger are also a big part of the Remus Racing family.
The SCCA Pro Racing Speed World Challenge Championships are North America's top production-based road racing series. Split into two, separate classes and 50-minute races (GT and Touring Car), the series is geared toward creating an exciting product for racing fans, both at the track and watching television, that is also easy to relate with and understand.
The second event of the 2003 SCCA Speed GT Championship will be held May 16-18 at Mosport International Raceway, in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. For more information, please visit www.world-challenge.com.
