McCARTHY, DINAN INK FMG AND IMAGE MICRO:

Dinan Racing and Speedvision Touring Car driver Terry McCarthy have announced the signing of two high-tech Silicon Valley companies-FMG and Image Micro-as primary sponsors for the 2001 season on the No. 23 BMW 328is. FMG is a complete sales and re-manufacturing company providing service of all mechanical, vacuum pumps, blowers, turbomolecular, and dry pumps primarily used in the semi-conductor industry. Image Micro builds hardware for original equipment manufacturers through its core competencies and outsourced services. Image Micro offers two areas of expertise-purchasing and project management, combining them with the outsourced services of manufacturing. SCCA National Champion and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series veteran Terry McCarthy has been signed as the driver for the Dinan Racing entry. Dinan and McCarthy teamed for five 2000 races in what they called a "pilot program" to determine if team chemistry was right. The team scored two top-five finishes, earning the Borla award at Lime Rock Park and establishing a new race track record at Laguna Seca. "I believe our pilot program was a success," said Steve Dinan, owner of Dinan BMW. "We look forward to winning races in 2001." "I'm excited to continue to work with the Dinan team," said McCarthy. "No team comes close to their attention to detail, extraordinary development and car preparation. With the best car and the support of FMG and Image Micro, we'll be in a great position to make a run at the championship." A renowned BMW tuner, Dinan develops and produces an extensive line of BMW performance products available through a nationwide network of BMW dealerships and independent facilities. Dinan plans to campaign his own BMW M Coupe in the Speedvision World Challenge GT once the requisite sponsors have been secured.
