Mosport, Ont., Canada (May 17, 2009) - Randy and his #1 K-PAX/3R Racing Volvo S60 traveled north of the border to Mosport International Raceway Sunday for Round Four of the SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT Championship. Randy started out strong in the first practice session but began to battle with transmission and engine development issues. The team worked hard to fix the problems and got Randy out for Sunday morning qualifying in time for him to qualify fifth. Luck really changed when Brandon Davis, who won the pole for the race, lost the Fast Five Coin Toss, thus inverting the top five and giving Randy the top starting position!

At the start Randy, with Andy right behind him, got a slow start and got passed, putting him in third where he stayed for most of the race. Randy and the rest of the top six drivers ran a very intense and close race but on lap 25 near the end of the race, Randy's engine began to lose power. He was able to hang on and finish eighth. Teammate Andy Pilgrim finished in fourth and won the Debaufre Fast Lap of the Race award.

"I had a wild weekend. We had some development issues but my team worked really hard as usual to get the car fixed. The coin toss was exciting and funny considering that it went the wrong way for us in an earlier race. Andy and are were happy to be able to start in line together but unfortunately were not able to capitalize on the start. Our handling was excellent and very consistent and the all-wheel drive traction was great but I was just not able to pass the two guys in front of me. It was a close and intense race. We had a quick car, even with our extra weight, but they had a huge power advantage on the straight away. My engine began to lose power near the end and I just focused on finishing."

"I want to thank Will Moody and Paul Delio for the long hours they put in getting our mechanical issues fixed. I would also like to thank my personal sponsors Team Janica Racing, WeatherTech, Prairie Hills Motorsport Club, ChaseCam, and saferacer.com for their continued support."

The Mosport World Challenge GT race will be broadcast Tuesday, July 7, at 2:00 PM EST on SPEED. The series next travels to Watkins Glen on July 4. Randy's next Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge race will be at Lime Rock Park on May 25.
