Bowmanville, Canada - Michael Galati and Derek Bell finished sixth and seventh respectfully in today's SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge Speed GT race at Mosport.

On Saturday Galati, driving the number one Champion Audi/Audi S4 Competition, took the pole position in qualifying with a time of 1:28.457 and speed of 100 mph. Starting from pole, the North Olmsted, Ohio resident, took the lead from the drop of the flag and was able lead to the first six laps. "I was able to get a good start and lead at the beginning. The car was good and then the weight started to get to the tires and I went off a little in turn four and bent the front splitter. After I recovered we were able to hang onto a top ten finish," said Galati.

Derek Bell, driving the number eight Legends of Motorsport/Audi S4 Competition, suffered a personal loss on Saturday with the death of his manager and long time friend David Mills. "David was a lifelong friend and it really took the stuffing out of me for Saturday's qualifying. In the race though I had a good start, considering I had to go two wheels off in the grass to get a couple of positions. I was running comfortably in the top ten behind Michael when I came up on a back marker and lost a couple of places. I later recovered and finished a credible seventh. I was happy with the car as I was lapping faster than I qualified," said Bell.

The Speed GT race from Mosport will be televised on the Speed Channel, Saturday, June 1 at 9:00 p.m. EST. The next Speed GT race will be at Lime Rock in Connecticut on Memorial Day weekend.
