All Three STaSIS Cars Finish in the Top Five

Lexington, Ohio (May 21, 2006) Chip Herr drove his brand new STaSIS Audi A4 to the top of the podium at the Mid Ohio SPEED World Challenge Weekend Presented by Trenton Forging Quality Formed Solutions. In its maiden race Herr's #17 STaSIS Audi A4 shot from second position on the grid to lead going into turn one. From there Herr held off the field, weathering three restarts due to full course yellows. The rest of the STaSIS team did not disappoint. Rookie Jeff Courtney and veteran "Fast" Freddy Baker starting in 8th and 9th position respectively, moved through the field to finish 4th and 5th, putting all three Audis in the top five.

"The car was absolutely unbelievable under me," Herr said. "I have a great team in STaSIS Engineering. They did an awesome job getting my car ready. It was great." The race at Mid Ohio was Herr's first career SPEED World Challenge Touring Car win.

STaSIS rookie Jeff Courtney extended his lead in the rookie of the year standings by finishing 4th. Courtney was named the Piloti Rookie of the Race for his stellar finish in his #99 STaSIS Kenda/MPI Coin/KaravanTrailer Audi A4.

"Fast" Freddy Baker drove a fantastic race in front of many friends and family in his home state of Ohio. Baker moved his #18 STaSIS Fred Baker Audi A4 from 9th on the grid to 5th at the finish. The racing veteran Baker won praise from the competition. Podium finisher Jeff Altenburg, driving the Mazdaspeed/Tri-Point Motorsports Mazda 6, commented, "Just great racing at the end, that last third of the race, with Pierre and Baker behind me. Can't say enough about how they raced clean with me, and me with them." Baker also clocked the race's fastest lap with a record time of 1:33.915 (86.554 mph) on lap 19.

Team owner Paul Lambert commented on the day: "This is a great day for our team. The crew has been working amazingly long hours to get Chip's new B7 chassis with the MAHLE 1.8T engine ready. Today they proved what they are made of. We have a really special team of guys at STaSIS. I could not be more proud." When asked about his driver lineup, Lambert smiled and said, "The mix of youthful exuberance, racing wisdom and competitive spirit on this team is a pleasure to work with. Every driver helps the others, and as a team we get better - just look at today's performance."

Following the race at Mid Ohio, Chip Herr moved up to 3rd in the Driver's Championship with 75 points, 14 points behind Mazdaspeed/Tri-Point Motorsports driver Randy Pobst, who has 89 points. STaSIS drivers Courtney and Baker are 7th and 9th in driver points, respectively. The strong showing by STaSIS moved Audi up to 3rd in the Manufacturers' Championship with 12 points.
