For the first time since the Toyota Atlantic Championship changed to a rolling start format in the late 1990s, the standing start returns to Mid-Ohio, with both SPEED GT and Touring Car Championships utilizing the thrilling zero to chaos standing start on the front straight.

RETURN OF THE MICHAEL AND RANDY SHOW
North Olmstead's (Cleveland) Michael Galati and former Dayton resident Randy Pobst have both gone from SCCA Solo II all the way to the lead driving seat on factory sports car racing teams. In the mid-90s, Pobst and Galati ran head to head numerous times for the SCCA Club Racing Valvoline Runoffs National Championship at Mid-Ohio. The two rekindle their rivalry this season for the first time in the World Challenge Championship.
