3R Racing Qualifies Seventh, Tenth and Twenty-second at Mid-Ohio

Lexington, Ohio - 3R Racing drivers qualified seventh, tenth and twenty-second for round four of the SCCA Pro Racing Speed World Challenge GT series race to be run at Mid-Ohio this afternoon at 5:35 p.m.

In an abbreviated race weekend, 3R Racing drivers Tommy Archer, Phil McClure and Tim Wiens qualified their Viper Competition Coupes in seventh, tenth and twenty-second respectively. The 13-turn, 2.25-mile Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course is proving to be a formidable layout for the Viper Competition Coupe. Driver and team owner Tim Wiens was caught out by cold tires on the opening lap of qualifying coming to rest in the turn two gravel trap, curtailing his qualifying to just two timed laps late in the session. The layout of the course is playing in the favor of the lighter weight cars like the Porsche 911.

Round four of the SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge GT series will be televised on Speed Channel on May 28th at 4:00 p.m. EST.
