Motorsport Connections First Visit to Lime Rock Park
Winston-Salem, NC- The Motorsport Connections Team with driver Billy Revis returned to the SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Series at the picturesque Lime Rock Park Circuit. This was the first time that Revis had raced at the tight predominately right hand turn track.
Right off the trailer Revis and the team were having good practice sessions and learning the setup of the car for the track. The Motorsport Connections BMW was however down on power during the weekend and that hampered Revis on his lap times. Despite the horse-power issue, the BMW handled the turns with finesse and was great to drive.
Qualifying for the race was quick and Revis ended up 32nd on the grid. "The team has had a good weekend despite the horse-power issue," stated Revis after qualifying. "The car is handling very well in the corners and I plan to make up some positions in the race."
Revis was able to gain positions in the beginning but full course cautions would put the field behind the pace car on several occasions. "There were several accidents that caused me to take evasive action in order to miss getting caught up in them," said Revis. The experience of the BMW club champion showed during the event as he stayed out of trouble. Revis was able to bring his BMW home in 22nd position for his first trip to Lime Rock Park. The team has competed in 4 of the 6 races in the 2005 season and sits in 26th position in the points.
The Motorsport Connections team will continue in the 2005 season with BMW club racing and would like to return to race in the SPEED World Challenge Series. For more information on the team, visit www.motorsport- connections.com and www.burrismotorsport.com .
