Justin Bell Signs with STaSIS Engineering for Lime Rock Park SCCA Speed Touring Car weekend.
FAIRFIELD, Conn. (May 20, 2003) -- Audi of Fairfield, part of the United Auto Group of dealerships, announced sponsorship of FIA GT Champion and Le Mans 24 Hour winner Justin Bell in a STaSIS Audi A4 Quattro in the SCCA Speed Touring Car event at Lime Rock Park this weekend.
United Auto, as part of Penske Corporation, has fielded dominant teams in CART, IRL, NASCAR and the Trans-Am Series. United Auto's involvement with the SCCA Speed Touring Car Championship brings their involvement in motorsports into the fast growing market of import car performance. Fairfield Audi is hosting a reception with the team Thursday, May 22, open to all Speed Touring Car fans.
Bell has seen success across a variety of categories in his thirteen-year racing career, including winning at Le Mans in 1998 in GT2 and capturing the 1997 FIA GT2 World Championship. In 2000, Bell signed with General Motors as a driver for the factory Corvette racing team, finishing 2nd at the Daytona 24 Hours, Le Mans 24 Hours and the Petit Le Mans race. In 2001, Justin raced in a Corvette in the popular Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup, capturing the Rookie of the Year title.
STaSIS Engineering brings the ultimate in automotive performance solutions to Audi sports sedans around the world. STaSIS engineers have collaborated with suppliers to design the finest suspension and braking systems available.
