LAKEVILLE, Conn. (May 24, 2003) -- A pair of Audi RS 6 Competition cars will start from the front row in today's SPEED World Challenge GT race at Lime Rock Park. The rainy qualifying session worked to the advantage of the Audi quattro system allowing Randy Pobst to set the fastest qualifying lap with a time of 1:09.307. Michael Galati was a smidgen behind Pobst with a time of

1:09.967.

Rod Bymaster, Motorsport Manager for Audi Sport North America, was very pleased with the outcome of today's qualifying session. "The cars and the quattro system worked very well today. You could really see the quattro advantage when the cars were coming out of the turns. The Audi's just came off the corners so much faster than the other cars. We have an excellent shot at victory for today's race."

Randy Pobst was equally pleased with qualifying his #2 Audi RS 6 in the rain. "Today's qualifying session highlighted the quattro system. The traction coming out of the corners was incredible! The rain really has been a blessing for us today. Lime Rock is a tough track for the Audi RS 6's but if it continues to rain, Michael and I should run really strong here."

Teammate Michael Galati in the #1 Audi RS 6 is excited about today's race and hopes the rain will continue. "The guys at Champion Racing gave me an unbelievable car today. The car is performing much better than in the past and the quattro system is working exactly like it should be in the rain. I'm glad to see Audi and Champion Racing finally get the pole."

Round one of this weekend's GT race at Lime Rock Park starts at 1:45 p.m. EDT. For more information, including live timing, please visit www.world-challenge.com.
