Monterey, Calif. - September 21, 2002 - After two rounds of practice the Turner Motorsport / H&R Springs BMWs are once again demonstrating the results of the team's thorough preparation and hard work. After two sessions, Will Turner has the #92 Turner Motosport / H&R Springs BMW 328i running third fastest on this winding California road course.

"This place is a lot of fun," commented Will. "We've got the cars pretty much where we want them. We viewed some in car camera footage of Bobby [Sak, #93 Turner Motosport / H&R Springs BMW 328i] and Frank's [Selldorff #94 Turner Motosport / H&R Springs BMW 328i] afternoon sessions. It was very helpful as a learning and discussion tool. Bobby and I ran quite a few laps together and were able to share some insight toward our differences of entry exit to some of the turns."

"Gearing might make the difference here," he continued. "Some of the turns leave you torn between gear selection or engine RPM... we are reviewing the possibility of changing the differential in my car for Saturday's qualifying run."

Bobby Sak added, "The [team] cars all seem pretty even. I was able to run with Will most of the second session. As Will said, some corners I could catch him and others he could pull away. Watching the video was very helpful." Sak finished the day 10th.

Selldorff agreed. "It's really helpful to sit and view the track from the perspective of your teammate's driver seat. Seeing where Bobby turns into a particular corner or picking up on his shift points provides a different perspective and options I can try in my car." Selldorff finished the day 14th overall.

Other challengers In the points battle did not fair well on the day. Point's leader, Peter Cunningham is just 11th fastest. Turner currently sits in fourth place with 158 points. He is one point out of third and three points out of second. Cunningham leads with 176 points.

Turner Motorsport also welcomes Hot Tomatoes Caribbean Café of St Maarten to the team. "We met the folks from Hot Tomatoes on a recent vacation," said Will. "They are by far the biggest SPEED World Challenge fans we've ever met. It was a great place and we had the best time there!"
